Sign Up for the Trinity Levee Run

The 6th Annual Trinity River Levee Run and Glenn Carter Safety Challenge is scheduled for Saturday, March 6, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. until noon.

Sponsored by the City of Dallas, Trinity Commons Foundation and the Dallas Running Club, the purpose of the run is to showcase a portion of the Trinity River Corridor Project and the river. It also is an event to encourage people to get outdoors and engage in a healthy lifestyle.

The 2010 route will take runners across the levee top trails, down Sylvan Avenue and Canada Drive, across the Continental Avenue Bridge to Riverfront Blvd., then a short leg on Commerce Street and back onto the levee top road to the finish line.

A highlight of the race is a match-up between the Dallas Fire Rescue Chief and Dallas Police Chief along with their recruits.

The race start and finish line are located at Trammell Crow Park, 3700 Sylvan Avenue, Dallas.

The Trinity River Levee Run also includes a timed 10K run and two-mile fun run/walk and features:

  • Awards for the top three - 10K finishers in all age group categories
  • Colorful event t-shirts (for the first 500 registrants)
  • Prize drawings
  • Plenty of food and refreshments (including breakfast tacos!)
